New Head will strengthen legal collaboration with external partners and researchers

As of 1 September 2026, Anette Poulsen Miltoft has been appointed Head of Research and IP Law at the University of Copenhagen. With more than 25 years of experience in research collaborations, technology transfer and knowledge transfer, she will help strengthen the university's collaboration with companies, public authorities, and other external partners.

Anette joins the position with a solid background from both the university sector and from legal advisory for research and innovation projects.

"UCPH is an ambitious and exciting university with outstanding researchers and strong research activities. The field of innovation is undergoing rapid and highly interesting develop-ment, and I would like to be part of that. Much of my professional career has focused on IP law and technology transfer, and it is an area that I love working with," says Anette Poulsen Miltoft.

As Head of Research and IP Law, she will work to ensure that the University of Copenhagen is perceived as a professional, efficient and flexible collaboration partner. The objective is to provide high-quality legal advice and smooth processes that support research collaborations and innovation.

"We must deliver high-quality legal advice at the right time. At the same time, we must make it easier for both external partners and researchers to find the right points of contact and move quickly forward with their collaborations," she says.

Strong profile for an important area

The Head of UCPH Innovation and External Relations, Deputy Director Andreas Blohm Graversen, welcomes the appointment:

"Anette is an internationally recognised expert in her field and at the same time possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Together with the highly skilled employees in Research and IP Law, she will contribute to the continued development of this business-critical area. I am very pleased to have her join the team."

Internally, Anette will continue the work of developing Research and IP Law as a strong professional unit that serves both researchers and external partners:

Anette Poulsen Miltoft holds a law degree from Aarhus University and has worked with technology transfer, knowledge transfer, research collaborations and IP law since 1999 at both Aalborg University and Aarhus University. Among other roles, she led the establishment of research collaboration agreement activities as the first contracts lawyer at Aalborg University and served for almost ten years as Head of the Technology Transfer Office at Aarhus University. She joined the University of Copenhagen in 2025.
